I 3D printed a Steam Machine

Tech

I built my very own Steam Machine - I'm really happy with how it came together, and can't wait to compare it against the actual one when it comes out! Based on this project, I'm predicting the Steam Machine price to be around $1000 - what do you think? #pc #pctips #pcbuilding #mryeester need new thermal paste? check out YeesterPaste and all my thermal paste accessories! www.yeesterpaste.com

I genuinely think Gabe may use a loss winner strategy

Well they could sell it for less if they already pre bought the components months before the price skyrocket just like you did. Or they already had a deal with the supplier months prior about the components price.

With the Steam Deck back in stock for 700 bucks for 512GB, I'd say around 800 for the low-end Steam Machine, and 1150 for the high-end, possibly more if we factor in the controller

No but he could do bulk purchases of trays of cpus and GPUs. That how microcenter gets them cheap deals. Altho I don't think microcenter buys trays, I think they have some contract set up with specific companies

Well if the steam console gets some type of subscription base and maybe headphones and controllers they can charge the steam console about $600-800 and this is known by loss leading and it’s a common tactic from big companies

Considering the Steam Deck OLED is almost 1,000$ now, I'm guessing the Steam machine will be like 2,500$ now.

It is important to remember that steam is probably going to be paying significantly less for the parts because of deals with manufacturers, but I doubt the thing is going to be less than 800 unfortunately lol
