And thus I sat down and gave this idea a try … not realizing what I was about to get myself into. First time catching another "can you beat" video in a long time. Love that they're still around in some capacity.
I remember doing this challenge years ago. Couple of skips that could have helped the run if you are interested: In Beach Bowl you can skip the ice flower (and the coin that spawns it) by using a cataquack + 2P jump. In Ghostly Galaxy you can use the pull star outside to clip through the floor, land on the seam of the level, and then clip into the cage with Luigi (no boo mushroom required) In Freezeflame you can skip the Ice Flower (and the coin that spawns it) by doing backwards slope jumps up the side of the mountain
You could have just made a copy of the save file before collecting the star that has a coin below it
Plot twist: the healing coins are similar to Hollow Knight’s Soul and Charms where they are created or drawn from the life force of other beings, and therefore Mario has a moral and ethical duty to shun these monstrosities, despite offering the power of life. 14:45 this star is actually possible to grab without grabbing the ghost mushroom. With the power of pull stars, you can go through the bottom of the mansion to reach Luigi since the bottom side has no collision 16:22 you can also climb the mountain without the coin by spinning up to a launch star. It’ll give access to all the stars in the galaxy.
