Well, if I remember correctly, I believe when the Great Depression started in 1929, one dollar would be about twenty dollars today, so a little pricey for an oatmeal cream pie, but not for an arm and a leg. Also, Dollar Tree actually first opened in 1989, when one dollar was about three dollars. Edit: I think some of y'all think I don't know that wages were incredibly low in the Great Depression.
