One time a parent decided to put her kid on my bike. I walked out of the store to tell her to not do that. Bystanders began defending HER because I was "being difficult"

The crazy part is, if you just ASK they will most likely be willing to let you sit on it

When I see a bike just parked I’ll sometimes look at it, & might have ma face pretty close to it but I never ever lay a finger on it

Never touch someone's property without permission, if you break it, you pay for any damages.

Simple solution: get your own bike and sit on it as much as you want

Sitting on someone else’s bike is the equivalent as to opening up a strangers car door and proceeding to just in the driver seat without their knowledge or consent. DONT DO IT.
