I always just assumed this was some sort of evolutionary thing. Smaller dogs would’ve needed to be louder to scare off attackers while larger ones would be more confident and less timid

Main reasons small dogs are agressive 1 people praise and spoil small dogs even when theyr misbehaving bc they dont see it as a big deal since they are small 2 people mistreat dogs, ignoring their boundaries, personal space and clear cues of discomfort, making them act out in response since the cues dont seem to be working basically, treat ur dogs normally and they will be normal

Makes sense why there are calm chihuahuas and aggressive ones. It’s all about how people treat them, in a sense where do they take them seriously or as a joke. It applies to humans, if someone treats you like a joke, you’ll get mad too. Chihuahuas do the same, if they are treated with respect, they will be calm and won’t be aggressive. Treat them like a joke, they will definitely be aggressive because their boundaries were not respected and they were not properly trained.

Little dogs may not be able to bite your hand off but their bite still hurts like hell and if you don’t get the bite wound treated you can still lose your hand due to infection. It’s your choice, lose the hand or die from sepsis.

I grew up with dachshunds and to this day it still stuns me how many people forget they are HOUNDS. They have crazy prey drive, massively loud and frequent barks, and many of the dachshunds I've had dig like you wouldn't believe. But people think because they're 10-15 pounds that they're just ornamental lap dogs.

Little dog syndrome is caused by people not training their dogs properly because they think small dogs don't need to learn the same discipline as big dogs. You HAVE to train a big dog because you can't just pick them up when they're causing trouble. Too many people think it's easier to just pick up small dogs instead of correcting their behavior.

I was strict with my tiny dog, my mom would undo everything I trained she was a menace to them but not me. She knew I meant business 😂
