people have theorized this but Mario Tennis Fever costing 70 bucks and not being mentioned at all in their financial report (implying that it didn't even break 1 million) might've made them realize something lol
Really a big fan of Arlo incorporating crowd work into his videos
Important to note that prices for Yoshi on Walmart and Amazon went up to $70 as soon as they released. The $10 discount seems to be a way for these companies to encourage pre-ordering.
Only 1 minute and 50 seconds in and its already the most sarcastic arlo has ever been lmao
Nintendo finally put the variable in variable pricing I’m even surprised Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders are 60/50 instead of 70/60, considering retailers are price matching to $50, if this is kept up, the Switch 2 is gonna literally become on-par/cheaper game-wise then the Switch 1 generation. Honestly as long as they never touch $80 again for a while, $40-$70 seems completely reasonable depending on the game.
I was at Target this past weekend, and like usual, I go to the video game section to play Switch demos while my husband looks around. A mom and daughter wanted to buy the newest Mario Kart game and were both shocked that the price was $80 and that it was a Switch 2 exclusive which is $450. They both at the same time said “Yeah……maybe not”. This was my first time seeing the casual gamer market turn down a popular Nintendo device because of the price.
Agree nintendo switch 2 welcome tour should of been free with switch 2
We thank Mario tennis fever for its sacrifice it flopping so hard at the $70 price made them realise, spinoffs and remakes shouldn't be 70 (besides hyrule warriors which did surprisingly well) so this 50 dollar price tag is welcomed with wide arms
It's important to note that the Walmart and Amazon discounted pricing appears to only apply to pre-orders, since Yoshi and the Mysterious Book has now risen to its full physical price after release.
They really gotta bring back Nintendo Selects reprints for evergreen Switch 1 titles with free Switch 2 patches priced at like, 40 bucks each
Bro that ending 😂😂
Unfortunately this is only applying to preorders, Yoshi went to 70 dollars physical on Amazon and Walmart right after release date
The bit at the end really had me laughing, great job.
I am a Nintendo shareholder and live in a single room I rent. 😭
4:26 Ah, yes, I also need a good pair of earbuds for when I’m dusting my action figures and sandwich. 😂 Arlo, I love you.

This is one of many MANY reasons why physical media matters. When games are physical objects that exist, are subject to supply and demand, and can be sold by anybody, that takes away the company's ability to have absolute control over the price the way they do on digital marketplaces. That's why I have dozens of switch games that I bought for well under their MSRP. (I'll also say that I just categorically do not EVER spend more than £20 on any digital game. A part of my soul refuses to spend more money than that on what is essentially just the imaginary right to play a game.)
I'm glad walmart and amazon are charging the digital price for their physical copies. For now at least. Walmart also used to charge $50 for Switch games that were $60 everywhere else.
