Whoever thought that killing Destiny 2 and to keep supporting Marathon was a good idea is just insane.
"vote with your wallets" we did, as demonstrated by marathons poor sales performance relative to destiny and yet bungie are still deciding to go all in on the significantly weaker game.
I wanted to touch on this and I know that even seeing Marathon will trigger some folks but it kind of proves the point. I REALLY feel like this D2 situation and the timing of S2 is going to do some real harm to Bungie's Marathon plans. That isn't because I'm a hater, its literally happening in front of our eyes. Separate to all of this, I CAN'T WAIT for the June update for D2. Just to feel something, if only for a couple of weeks <3
As someone who actually enjoyed Marathon, Bungie walked their dumbasses right into this and they pretty much deserve to fail at this point. Pathetic studio
If Bungie doesn’t want D2 fans turning on Marathon, they shouldn’t be setting up Marathon in direct competition for Destiny. Like you create your own baggage through mismanagement.
I have been playing Destiny since D1 beta. I have purchased all seasons and Dlcs to present in D2. When they tell us they will do another 10 year saga then tell us D2 is being shutdown then turn around and expect us to care about marathon is unrealistic. Bungie needs to keep its word in the future if D3 ever is made. Its a matter of principle.

Unfortunately, even if those at Bungie want to create D3, Sony has to give them the green light, and we all know how Sony can be at times…
A large number of Destiny fans are now Bungie haters. So many reasons for this, over several years. I have nothing against Marathon specifically, but the sooner Bungie fails, then the sooner Sony either refreshes Bungie leadership or gives Destiny to another studio.
They couldn't give me marathon for free to play. It honestly looks like roblox on steriods. Bungie had the absolute best character movement in d2 and they wanna shut it down for a game that is not gonna save bungie as a company. Sony will eventually clean house.

I left Destiny 2 after Lightfall, so it really doesn't hit as hard on me like other people that Destiny 2 ends. As for Marathon, when I heard it was an "extraction shooter," I automatically knew I wasn't going to buy it. Do I want it to fail? Well, yes, ultimately. I think Bungie deserves all the hate it is getting for this decision. For me, I vote with my wallet. I will not be buying Marathon. It's the only power I have that greedy corporations actually listen to. I think we are all just pissed because us, as a community, cannot directly punish all the execs - as well as Pete Parsons - who were ultimately responsible for all the bad decisions. We are absolutely resentful and bitter about it. So, our only means of recourse is to punish Marathon. I feel sorry for the devs. It's not their fault. They don't make all the important decisions. We are tired of being ignored and being punished for all corporate greed has done to us.
