Fans are trying to save Destiny in a myriad of ways. What can work? What can't? What happens to Bungie? What happens to the Destiny IP? I have a lot of thoughts. By signing the petition and showing up for the server slam, nothing may happen. But by not doing those things, nothing will certainly happen.

Bungie selling its car for gas
The fact that Division 2, even in its most winter of winter years, still managed to scrape up a new seasonal mechanic and some new exotic-tier gear bi-annually, but SonyBungie refuses to even keep enough of a skeleton crew on to run, like, solstice or Guardian games once a year, is embarrassing. Management WANTS the game dead.
Gotta love the logic. Sony greenlit Concord for $400 million but a sure thing like Destiny 3 is out of the question
First Destiny ends, then Paul’s beard from last video. Can’t handle these losses.
No one is asking for D2 to continue. We’re asking for D3 even if it’s 5-6 years away
I don't think there's anyone naive enough to think Sony'll suddenly greenlight a D3 just by seeing the petition, we just want them to see it
I think the server slam and petition is good. No it definitely wont move the needle at all. But if the participation IS good, then it at least sends a message that there is still interest in Destiny as an IP, regardless of D3 being made or not... it at least shows interest so the liklihood of a Destiny project in the future only goes up imo, no matter what form it comes as.
The fascinating part of all of this is that Destiny, to this day, still doesn’t have any competition. There is no other game like Destiny.
Honestly i dont even need a D3 right now i just want something to show the Destiny IP will continue
We all feel like Grogu does in that basket on the right :(
If Destiny hits over 100k on the 9th, it would be both incredibly satisfying and incredibly sad
for me it was never about destiny 2 ending its that there is no destiny 3.
Downloaded the game again yesterday. Will be there to run up the numbers come June 9th
Truman has really committed to not overdelivering ever since taking Pete's throne.
I don't think anything will "save" Destiny 2 at this point, these things are just good to demonstrate that there IS still interest in the destiny IP. The best "realistic" outcome is probably that this gives Sony and Bungie leadership enough confidence that a new Destiny game could work out in the future. If there is a Destiny 3 eventually, I want it to be made by Bungie or at least have the underlying gunplay remain the same. A Destiny 3 without the "secret sauce" of bungie's gunplay isn't something I'm interested in tbh.
What a strange conclusion narratively to have the final bit of story content be a Star Wars crossover.
I don’t think any of us are signing the petition expecting it’s going to actually push them…but it’s really going to make things clear if we get a lot of signatures and maybe the franchise as a whole won’t die entirely. Or at least it’s going to cause some additional pain to the Bungie execs in PR damage.
