The Skill Ronaldo Refuses to Use

Somewhere deep down inside of him he still wants to believe he's the kind of player that can score those type of goals... That's why every now and then he continues to play that kind of shot even though the probability of scoring it is at an all-time low.

He rather score 2/10 Knuckeball FKs than score 10/10 finnesse FKs. For some reason Edit : I didn't meant to start a war at the reply section. I didn't even hate him or messi or any other player bru🥀 All I'm saying is that he rather try scoring a Knuckeball which don't even work that much than score a finnesse which has a higher chance of working. Which is kinda dumb ngl.

I feel he is surrounded by people who don't have the guts to point out his mistakes.

I genuinely think it just boil down to ego. While a perfectly executed knuckle shot can be the hardest shot to stop, the chance of it being on target is abysmally low and it’s also quite difficult to consistently nail it. Ronaldo probably just have an ego or the feel of hitting such kind of shots reminded him of the player he used to be

His curved free kicks are insane. Idk why he doesn't use it anymore. He did a few in real Madrid. Then he scored a curler vs torino, another curler against spain. This one vs damac too.

Part of the problem is that the knuckleball technique is kind of dead now because of the way balls are constructed nowadays. Pre-Jabulani balls were heavily impacted by wind resistance which can force the ball downwards rather than over the crossbar when shooting at top speeds with no spin. Balls today simply don’t do that

I think ít's less about his technical ability but more about his mentality. In his mind,he 100% believe in the skills he has honed, and he dont doubt. At the highest level, doubt is the worst enemy.

Maybe if he was to mimic Valverdes technique, it's more precise and fits Ronaldo's love for hard shots

He knows that we want to see beauty, not efficiency. Finesse is more sustainable than knuckleballing it. But it is not as asthetic.

Playing as a winger is much harder than playing as a striker because it requires all of that plus speed and running ability. It’s easy to switch from winger to striker, but going from striker to winger is almost impossible.
