He's right, it's not scamming if you're making the choice to give someone your money with no expectations on how it is going to be spent.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but you have to make the choice to be THAT person.
I gave a lady £10 to catch a train home the other week. I dunno if she actually needed it to get a train or whatever, and i likely never will. But the gratitude seemed genuine and that was enough.
If I get scammed, I get scammed. I would rather be scammed 9/10 times knowing I helped one person, than deny help to anyone and leave someone in a bad spot. Call me naive, I consider myself kind. (Edit spelling mistake)
