We are back in the shop working on our 1994 John Deere 570B road grader that we recently brought home from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. With only 2,700 original hours, the machine is in great shape mechanically, but years of sitting means the seals are dry and lines are ready to pop. We walk through rebuilding a massive 8-foot side shift cylinder on our Fireball vise, tracking down an incorrect O-ring that caused a major leak, and tackling a stubborn front steering cylinder. We also take the slop out of the blade circle by removing heavy shims, service the transmission filters, and investigate why the tandem chain drives are running thin, overfull oil. Stick around until the end to see the delivery Tucker got in the mail and the reaction when the boss walks into the shop to inspect our latest helicopter and robotic lawnmower invoices! * 0:00 – Inside the Air Force John Deere 570B Road Grader * 1:10 – Inspecting the Leaky Cylinders and Cutting Edges * 3:55 – Reconstructive Surgery on the Blade Edge * 4:51 – Fighting Stubborn Bolts & Cardboard Aided Design (CAD) * 7:42 – Welding and Bolting the New Edges * 10:25 – Pulling the Massive Side Shift Cylinder * 14:05 – Tearing Down and Rebuilding the 8-Foot Cylinder * 18:15 – Finding the Wrong Hydraulic Seal Wrap Up * 22:45 – Tucker Buffs an Original 700-Hour John Deere 450H * 23:25 – Taking the Slop and Play Out of the Grader Circle Shims * 39:12 – The $5 Gumball Machine Side Hustle * 41:45 – Pulling and Resealing the Front Steering Cylinder * 54:52 – Changing the Transmission & Engine Oil Filters * 59:13 – Checking the Tandem Chain Drive Oil Levels * 1:03:42 – Tucker Gets a Surprise Package from Arizona * 1:05:25 – The Boss Walks In: Helicopter & Mower Invoice Trouble #heavyequipment #johndeere #dieselrepair Emails [email protected] [email protected] Equipment and attachments www.ccsurplus.com Parts www.ccsurplusparts.com

Working in that kind of atmosphere makes work a pleasure.😁
My daughter was a dedicated crew chief on the B2 at Whiteman, she retired from there back in December. I watch you guys all the time, enjoy all your videos. I ran heavy equipment in the 70’s so am still interested in what you do!

The repair of the unusual (like this grader project) is a really interesting change from the usual bulldozer video. Keep up the great work.
The gumball machine . Grader circles are always a pain to adjust.
