It was so upsetting that you never clocked that the puzzles in ultimate drummer are tied to the sequencer and the tempo controls the platforms and other moving elements in the game
In Burgeist, when the message "a trumpeter has appeared" pops up, there's a big enemy that spawns and buffs the waves that attack. You have to go out and find and defeat the trumpeter, as it won't approach the tower. That's why you kept getting overwhelmed.

I bought Burggeist release day while browsing Steam newest releases and it was genuenly such a gem, I loved that game so much, it has changed a slight bit tho from day 1, glad it gets some more recognition
