We battered them at the riverside in January. We had yet another poor officiating at st Mary’s aswell in the 2nd leg. So are we really undeserving? They were right to fear us. But to go and spy on us is a disgrace. And to anyone who thinks otherwise, if that was your team what would you want/expect? …exactly! So justice is finally served, hopefully moving on even more justice is served.

As a sunderland fan I went from thinking spygate was a bit of a laugh and a bit pathetic to actually getting quite annoyed about it, it is blatant cheating and this is correct decision. Hope you go up( sorry for not hating you!)

Ipswich fan here. Delighted with the result. I think it's the only fair solution. I do think the final needs to be put back a week so both teams can prepare properly. If they can't do it at Wembley then put it in old Trafford or st James park. It would be better for fans of both clubs too. Good luck in the final.
I understand the Telegraph on Wednesday will have a lot more detail (not sure if it's the print edition or online). It suggests quite a lot knew about what was going on and even joked about it, with a picture showing a soldier in camo gear with a face doctored to show William Salt seen by staff and/or players. Cheating, pure and simple. I would go so far as to say that any appeal against sentance should be seen as "frivolous".

Pleased for Boro. Side played with heart when we (Sky Blues) played them in both games. Saints came across as entitled and arrogant. Fans and players gave Frank lots of stick at St Mary's when we drew there, left a nasty taste. Their spy didn't even bother with a false beard haha. Good luck against the Tigers.
I have to be honest, as a lifelong Boro fan I'm glad that the EFL have actually properly punished Southampton... but, I do feel quite bad for Hull City. They've spent the last week without being able to properly prepare, they've obviously had the mind fuck of the threat of the Playoff Final being cancelled and moved to another date, and I honestly would have been absolutely fine if the EFL had thrown Southampton out and handed Promotion to Hull
