►Christopher Nolan STUNNED As Woke Odyssey Trailer BOMBED Online!? Christopher Nolan's Odyssey trailer just became the most disliked preview of his entire career, and the numbers behind that backlash are far more telling than most coverage has admitted. Sitting at roughly 315,000 likes against 83,000 dislikes on the main Universal upload, with even worse ratios on regional channels, this is a verifiable shift in audience response to a director who has spent twenty-five years building near-untouchable trust. In this video, we break down exactly why the backlash to The Odyssey is being driven by real, identifiable choices in the trailer itself, and why the audience pushing back deserves to be taken seriously rather than dismissed. We walk through the viral "daddy" line from Robert Pattinson, the modern American accents that pulled viewers out of the ancient Greek setting, the muted color palette that strips the Mediterranean of its actual character, and the Agamemnon armor debate that critics famously compared to "Batman with a hint of Warhammer 40K." You will also hear a full breakdown of Nolan's own defense of these choices from his May 2026 Time magazine interview, including his blackened bronze argument, his Travis Scott casting reasoning, and his Emily Wilson translation choice. We examine where his defense holds up and where it contradicts the source material he claims to honor. By the end, you will have a clear-eyed picture of why this $250 million production, the first commercial film shot entirely on IMAX 70mm, is heading toward its July 17th, 2026 release with a divided audience, and why the people uncomfortable with what they have seen are not gatekeepers, they are paying attention. Not watching this film will be the easiest decision of 2026
Hi Mr. Nolan. As the consumer, I'm under no obligation to support your choices, and don't need your "approval" in making my choices.
A movie to win awards and alienate viewers. Awesome.
The Greeks had a word for Nolan, 'Hubris'.
Well I wanted from this movie to travel me to ancient Greece, not to Nolan's messed mind.....
Plate armor in the bronze age, but Nolan refused to use an orchestra since they didn't exist at the time. His choices are inconsistent.
Thank God I still can watch the old Odyssey..
Its like they learn absolutely nothing from Netflix "Queen Cleopatra"......
C'mon Mr. Nolan, Agamemnon's helmet doesn't look like it's made of black bronze, it looks like it's made of black plastic and nobody is buying it.
Imagine destroying a story just to win an award.
If only hollywood would STOP REMAKING MOVIES. They have lost all their creativity.
Adapting the "English" translation of a Greek poem that is considered to be one of the cradles of literature of western civilization done by a woman that has serious inferiority complex without at least consulting a Greek literature professor ( i am sure there must be a lot of renowned out there that would cost nothing considering his budget) shows only one thing: We do not care about the epic itself, there is nothing to be respected . I can only feel the hypocrisy of these so called artists.
Black Helen! The face that launched a few canoes! 😅
I'll wait for the next Odyssey movie thanks.
This has Ghostbusters 2016 level failure written all over it.
Christopher Nolan has unwittingly created the best slapstick comedy of the century
" Let's go " is the most annoying thing ever.
the face that started first world Looting
I mean there are so many things wrong with the casting alone.
The whole movie feels like a troll move. The armor is trolling nerds, cast is trolling social issues. Completely tone deaf. It's like the movie was supposed to piss people off.
