I met a 10 year old boy who's life was like this, worse even..... He would've ended up in a life of crime and jail, but he ended up with me instead. He is 45 now, happily married with 2 amazing children. He works hard and bought his family a home to live and grow in. He struggles some with relationships, but he's a good man and can admit his faults. I'm so proud of who he's become. He never forgets my birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines, or any excuse to call his "mom" on Mothers Day. I love that kid so much, and watching this film brought me back to the life he was enduring before he cut my lawn 'that day' when he was just 10 years old ♡

Life for some is hard. It's what you do with it after and how you will apply what you have learned to your own life. In order for you to better your own life. I, too, know life, I grew up on the streets from the age of 13. It hurts and angers me when I see movies like this.

Very well done. This film was real, painful at times, and the acting was honest. It may be triggering for some to watch, but it has a message that more people need to understand You never know what other people are living with.

So relatable to my childhood and some friends I had growing up in Florida, around my neighborhood in the 80s and 90s. Some are still in prison; some are married. The 70s, 80s, and 90s were tough eras if you lived in the ghetto or the hood in those eras.

Some kids hit the lottery, Some Nbetween,Some Poor and Treated like gold..Jus Never kno and they don't get to choose,But Parent's Can Help them b happy even if Poor as Dirt..A Hard Watch,I was Verbally abused,Mom was Narcist and Was Hard To watch This..A Good Movie 3.5/5

When a child is abused by the very parent ordained to guide and protect the child, the lines dividing right and wrong are at minimal blurred if not erased. The abused child calls into question all that has been taught buy society what is good and what is bad

That teacher that humiliated that young boy in front of all of his classmates ,was unbelievable. She resembled the Boy's friend Ray's mother. She sure talked the same way to her son. It was an intense scene when Val K. His father said "I Love You " when he got out of his car ,then started to cry as he drove away. So overdue and just so sad. This was a fantastic movie . The cast was wonderful. Very well Done. Thank You for Posting.!

I worked on the film set of " The Saint " a Val Kilmer movie with him, at Shepperton Studios in London. Im watching this at 68 yrs finding it strange that Val died younger than I.

Unlimited freedom as a boy is exciting in the moment but dangerous long term. Growing up fast can make adulthood seem monotonous and anticlimactic. To overcome several years of struggle and still find happiness afterwards has narrow margins of success. But it’s possible, one day at a time, instead of how childhood taught ‘everything all at once’. Some of the most intelligent, grounded men alive raised themselves. Many didn’t reach adulthood, but those who did have potential to benefit everyone around them, and can raise the best of families. They’re able to see goodness in everything & everyone. There are lifelong consequences for receiving freedom too early though, and not everyone can handle it.
