TWILIGHT was all in Bella's head (Yes, seriously.)

Since we're going down the "it's all in Bella's head" path, my new theory is this: what if Edward was just a normal boy she was dating and he really was standing right next to her during the accident with the van? Maybe he saw the van coming towards them and shielded her with his body which is what really caused the huge dent in the side of the van ( I always thought the dent was too large for just his hand) and the force caused her to hit her head against her truck, which is the reason for all the hallucinations. The impact of the van killed Edward and now Bella has created the fantasy that he's a vampire so that he can stay with her forever. A scene that supports the Edward dying theory is when she walks out of the police station and sees a body being wheeled by on a stretcher and immediately has flashbacks of Edward. The fantasies help her cope with the loss but eventually reality starts bleeding into them (Edward "leaves" her) and she seeks solace in Jacob but all he wants is to date her. When she doesn't give in he leaves her, triggering her PTSD in the process. Without Jacob there to distract her, the combination of grief, survivor's guilt, and depression becomes too much so she jumps off the cliff and either lives through an entire fantasy life in her dying moments as stated in this video, or like another comment said, she's in a coma and dreaming but also hearing what's being said around her in regards to her dying and Charlie needing to mourn

First time such a theory made sense to me. She is drifting into a delusional daydreaming.

My takeaway is that this makes Charlie a very tragic character. Despite his best efforts to protect and connect with his daughter, she hates him, becomes delusional after a series of traumas, and ultimately ends up killing herself. Poor man probably blames himself for what Bella did.

I think it's really funny that the "falling down the stairs" clip is so unnecessary. They could've just left it at the mother saying it, but no. The director was like "Okay we absolutely NEED this shot, Ms. Stewart. We're gonna do a few takes of you eating shit on some stairs."

Tbh her being a depressed girlie who wants to feel interesting or desired is so on point with her flat, socially awkward personality and everything else you've said so far. She projected fantasies onto boys and she could be kinda mentally ill or affected by the bumps in the head, or we're just seeing her fantasies until she straight up believes them because of the accidents. I think New Moon amplifies her depression and loneliness

I like that in this the real Edward was just. A guy. Who moves to her town, saves her from a car, then moves away.
