To me it was crazy with what intensity Bayern was pushing for the lead towards the end of the second half. They were dominating the game, finding solutions and making Madrid struggle a lot. Pressure football.

But dont forget Bayern werent playing a random mid table team but against Real Madrid with 2 of the fastest and deadliest attackers on the planet chasing a one goal deficit. Real were always going to have chances no matter how defensively sound the opponent is. But Bayern still came out on top in the end. That says alot about how strong Bayern are.

imo Neuer ruined what could’ve been a more routine and mature performance from Bayern. Gifting a goal like that in the first minute against a team known for their “black magic” set the match up for chaos. That extra bit of sloppiness in possession from nerves led to more turnover and transitions than Kompany was probably expecting them to give up at home. Real’s counter attacking was a bad match up for Bayern so I think it’s impressive they won despite that, and despite Neuer’s error, and despite two controversial goals against them. I’m interested to see if Bayern can now suffocate PSG again like they did in the first half at the Parc in the league stage.

Kompany doesn't back down on his tactical philosophy even against Real Madrid. He fully believes in his guys & they're repaying him when it matters. It's beautiful to see. Can't wait for the semis, it's gonna be nuts.

As a Bayern fan I tell you we will look much better against PSG. Not because PSG are weaker than Real Madrid, but because against Real we struggle mentally and we do a lot of silly mistakes.

Kompany is way more smart and intelligent to manage the game! Watch his post match interview where he said i would have taken a draw to go through, he ain't someone like Flick to only attack full 90 mins no matter the situation, he can play his team some classic defensive structure as well like what he did after going down 10 men against PSG in paris whole 2nd half ! Even Kane said that our gameplan in 2nd half was to make Madrid run and tired, then we will attack full throtle in final 10 minutes, and they did. The mentality of Kompany's gameplan has been mingled so well within bayern players and that's what making them so effective.

i feel the mental part played a big role in how vulnerable the bayern system looked. like bayern has been quite nervous at times (60+ min in the 1st leg, first half of the 2nd), leading to the risky system looking super fragile because of lacking commitment to the counterpress and too many unnecessary turnovers. when they were more self assured (like 2nd half 2nd leg), the system looked pretty stable i'd say, leading to good control

Winning against big teams like Real Madrid or Man City you dont win by defending.You win by outscoring them thats why Klopp always had the upper hand on City and Simeone always used to fall short of beating Real Madrid.You have a better chance of winning 4-3 than winning 1-0.

Real Players are so used to being favored by referees that they thought a referee making a rulebook decision was rigged against them. Such arrogance. It was so fulfilling to see them lose and whine in the end.

Bayern already beat PSG with 10 men in Paris. RM were the toughest opponent aside from Barca, who got eliminated by Atletico. Bayern should win from here.

Real is probably the most difficult opponent for Bayern - strong and compact in defense, lethal and lightning fast on the counter attacks. While PSG might be the stronger team this season, I believe they are less able to exploit the risks Bayern is taking

As a Bayern fan we played the first half out of positions and aggressive presses and risks.. that's why rma scored 3( one is our mistake)... But in second half we set defenders to standing halfs and less aggressive and changed the play to position/holding game and waited for the perfect situation to score... that's why rma can't score in the 2nd half...they got only some counters in it... I believe in our coach kompany head and our players.... I know, This play is risky..but it's rewarding 🙌🏻. But I don't think it's easy against PSG like we did it against them in the grp stage.. Defence should be consider!!🔥
