Started the day at 5:30am getting loaded at Felixstowe before heading up towards Tamworth. After topping the fuel up to 90%, I stopped at Rothwell Truck Stop for a full English breakfast before carrying on to the delivery. Once the job was done it was straight back down, reloaded for the next day and then the hunt for a parking spot began. Dinner tonight was a chicken burger and chips cooked in the truck, followed by a film night watching Final Destination. A lot of people think trucking is just driving from A to B, but there’s a lot more to it than that. I remember when I was tramping on containers. The only breaks I got were the times I spent being unloaded. There weren’t any Starbucks shopping malls or breakfast establishments around and the food you ate was the food you took with you. The ‘shower’ was a bar of soap a cloth and a bottle of water! wow! times have changed! almost to the point of me reconsidering becoming a tramper again! 😂
