This week, I try to sort the conservatory electrics… but one small job quickly turns into absolute chaos. 🛠️TOOLS & MATERIALS I USED: *As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases made through links. ➡️ Einhell Power X-Change Cordless SDS - https://geni.us/EgMCBBJ (Amazon) ➡️ Dji Osmo pocket 3 Camera - https://geni.us/DJIosmopckt3 (Amazon) ➡️ Stanley combi drill - https://geni.us/fN8isKn (Amazon) ➡️ Stanley impact driver - https://geni.us/Rjo60E (Amazon) ➡️ Tape measure - https://geni.us/tpmeasure (Amazon) ➡️ Werner portable workbench platform - https://geni.us/3wx4a0K (Amazon) ➡️ Spirit level - https://geni.us/61TS3 (Amazon) ➡️ DeWalt Protective sunglasses - https://geni.us/dewaltsunglass (Amazon) ➡️ Concrete screws - https://geni.us/Concretescrews (Amazon) ➡️ Hammer - https://geni.us/stanleyhammer (Amazon) ➡️ Handsaw - https://geni.us/Hsaw (Amazon) ➡️ Gloves - https://geni.us/cementgloves (Amazon) ➡️ LAP MS8907 Voltage Tester Pen - https://geni.us/lapvoltest (Amazon) ➡️ Stanley wire strippers - https://geni.us/3ai7Pq (Amazon) ➡️ Dewalt oscillating saw - https://geni.us/TNwIv (Amazon) ➡️ Bolster chisel set - https://geni.us/Y7zZ0 (Amazon) ➡️ Tolsen 13pcs VDE Insulated Electricians Screwdriver Set - https://geni.us/inselectrical (Amazon) ➡️ Back boxes - https://geni.us/doublesocketbackbox (Amazon) ➡️ Cable grommets - https://geni.us/metalsocketgrommet (Amazon) ➡️ 13A Double Wall Socket with USB-C - https://geni.us/13adoublesocket (Amazon) ➡️ WAGOBOX Junction Box - https://geni.us/WAGOBOXJunctionBox (Amazon) ➡️ WAGO 221 Series Lever Connectors Selection Case - https://geni.us/WAGO221SelectionCas (Amazon) ➡️ Twin and Earth Cable 2.5mm 25m - https://geni.us/TwinandEarthCable25m (Amazon) ➡️ BH01485 Earth Sleeving, 3.0mm Yellow & Green - https://geni.us/earthsleeving (Amazon) --------------------------------------------------------------- You can also find me at the following places: 🛒Shop in my Etsy Store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CarpentersDaughterGB Support Me Via Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/thecarpentersdaughter The Carpenter's Daughter Blog: http://www.thecarpentersdaughter.co.uk/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thecarpenters_daughter/ My Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Carpenters-Daughter-1581968535377709 Pinterest: http://uk.pinterest.com/carpenterslass/ Twitter: http://twitter.com/carpenterslass --------------------------------------------------------------- FOOD: My Food Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/TastefullyVikkie My Food Blog: http://www.tastefullyvikkie.com My Food Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/TastefullyVikkie Instagram: https://instagram.com/tastefullyvikkie/ Pinterest: https://uk.pinterest.com/tastefullyvik/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/tastefullyvikki ---------------------------------------------------------------

Nice punches !🥊🥊
"I am being judged by a chicken" 😂😂
10:22 Buy a dedicated cable cuters with rounded jaws/blades. Its a bliss to cuts cables with them. These isolation strippers are the worst cable cutters.
Hi Vikkie, I highly recommend that you do exclusion work all around the perimeter of your house to keep the mice from entering and chewing up your wiring. You can purchase boxes of a product called “Xcluder.” It’s high test steel wool that rodents hate. You buy the kit, which includes special gloves for working with it so you don’t get cut, and excellent metal snips. It’s a bit of a pain, but we’ve had zero incursions since putting it in. You’ll also need a small hand mirror (there are extendable ones which work well), and clean used chopsticks for pushing it into small holes. We went around the edges of the cladding/brick work, looking under it with the mirror, for gaps or entry points. We then snipped some of the xcluder off the skein and packed it in tightly with the chopstick. I’m sure there are pest companies that also do that work, but I know you prefer DIY, which is brilliant. Love your content; it’s so relatable, informative, and funny!
Well I truly have a deep respect for you and your skills.
I watched this last night and today while tackling a job where everything kept going wrong, instead of getting angry, I smiled to myself, knowing it doesn’t just happen to me. Thanks for sharing your ‘simple’ wiring job. 😊
what I like about this channel its reflect real world diy / issues and honesty. thanks.
Great work Vikkie 👊
A nice hard wood trim around the socket may look nice❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Did I miss something or throughout were you not using a current detector to check the electrics? There are cheap electrical tester pens that can be placed near a line to see if there is current going through, including near sockets but also just live cables. As soon as you cut what you thought was the end of the mouse damage, I would have immediately tested the line. From the video it looks almost like you waited until 16:25 when you could try the socket tester. Waiting to the very end to test the circuit would have been madness if there was an issue further upstream.
Great achievement, electrical faults can be a right pain. I once had a fault, turned out it was just a blown fuse but previous owners had plasterboarded over the fuse board!!! That took a bit of finding! Well done for tracking that nawed cable down and fixing it with very minimal damage.
I would not trust that wiring vicky really you should have a insulation test how do you know if the mice have chewed through more😗
I always end up doing something in the conservatory when it’s hot! Must be something in the Lincolnshire water ❤
Just a quick question. It looks like the socket the conservatory takes its power from is part of a ring circuit. And you have just connected 3 double sockets as spur which is against regulations as to do this you would need a fused 15amp switch between the ring circuit and the first of the 3 double sockets. ??? You could overload the spur with electrical gym equipment At 3:27 it looks like 3 wires go into each hole of the socket and two twin and earth coming though and not connected. I am guessing then when you connected the conservatory when you used the wago. You sent a live which was in the socket into the wago for the “in” feed then with the “return” you put this into the socket. And each socket in the conservatory has two twin and earth going to them with the end one goes back to the plastic pattress box. So it would look like a circle not a figure of 8 so to speak. As it’s very hard to tell from the video as looks like some sockets only had single twin and earth feed. So not exactly sure why you needed 4 part wago when a two should have been plenty 😅😅
Mate, ditch the tiles and get some composite sills or sumfink.
Wago is definitely the best method these days nice job 🥂🥂👍
Putting terminals on sockets is a very bad idea.
Hard job, but you got through it 💪
With all that insulation its a wonder that the mouse fitted in.
17:40 - Thank...god for that. Nice catch 🙂
