Gary and Alan break down a dramatic final day of the Premier League season. West Ham tried their best to survive by beating Leeds 3-0, but it wasn't enough as Tottenham beat Everton to avoid relegation on the final day. So the Hammers are down for the first time in 14 years. Arsenal finally got their hands on the trophy after 22 years, with a record 19 goals from corners and 19 clean sheets. They covered Pep Guardiola's emotional final goodbye at City, Mohamed Salah's record-breaking Liverpool farewell, and Bruno Fernandes making assists history. And then there's Sunderland. Back in the top flight for one season and now heading to Europe for the first time in 53 years. Thomas Tuchel named his England World Cup squad. Cole Palmer, Jarrod Bowen, Morgan Gibbs-White, Phil Foden and Harry Maguire all left out. Gary and Alan talk through the big calls and pick who they would have taken instead. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Rest Is Football is powered by Fuse Energy. My heart bleeds what a long shift 1 hr 45 mins.😢
'Nuno rallied West Ham, who were pretty much written off when he took over'... What? He took over in SEPTEMBER! He's been in charge for 33 of their 38 league games
I enjoy how much it hurts him to say Sunderland is in Europe
When you see Salah, Saka, Palmer, Foden, Bowen, Marmoush, Odegaard, Wirtz etc all struggling and look at the profiles of the top scorers in the league you can really see where the league has gone The quality is there but the way the referees are officiating the game is taking away from the most exciting players hopefully we see a lot more protection for attacking players next year and we can see some real quality again
Liverpool finished on 60 points this season - and would have missed out on the Champions League in every previous season in the Premier League era — Given that context, do you think that qualifying is sufficient to justify keeping Arne Slot as manager ?
Also most goals scored by any team in the Premier League against 9 or more in the final 3rd… detractors suck on that x
The Sunderland manager is awesome, Gooner ?
When do the world cup episodes begin??
Over time someone at Snickers have been nicking peanuts from the bar.
How many adverts?
After West Ham FC clamoured "Moyes Out", David Moyes moved to Everton. Then there was West Ham hoping for Moyes with Everton defeat Tottenham thereby save West Ham from relegation. That was not going to happen.
Pep out, B. Silva out, Mo' out, Arsenal Campeones and United doing the right things. It's a start of the new era for the Prem.
”Arsenal has been more of a team” yeah, it’s a team sport and these players have made their team WIN which is the main purpose. Fernandes had a good second half of the season but he wasn’t as good as any of these three the first half, how Rice couldn’t get it despite 38 games of top performances is quite strange. I’m a Roma fan and love for Malen to get player of the year as he’s been by far the best since arriving, but realistically it should obviously go to an Inter player who’s performed the full season
This was one of the most exciting title races around, until just the beginning of the week. And the teams that one is off to play in the Champions League. If they win, it will say good things about English football. But you guys don't care at all. You are more interested in someone's barber. You don't have much to contribute to my understanding of the game or my joy in it. Best of luck.
Will you guys do any fan meet ups while in NYC?
Only reason Toney surprised me was because I'd forgotten about him 😅 but when you think about for a few seconds it makes sense
I’ve been watching for a while now… Villa still don’t get much of a mention 😂
Lewis Hall, Harry Maguire and Wharton were my biggest eyebrow raising decisions
The fact that Emry didnt get shortlisted for manager of the season is a disgrace. Premier league is well bent
Sir.Guardiola❤
