Not sure what race Toto was watching but the Mercedes upgrades looked pretty conclusive to me. George and Kimi could literally fight like dogs non-stop and still widen the gap with the rest.
I was at the race and the benefit of Hamiltons cornering strategy was quite visible.

When did max say all that? I thought I watched every interview he did all weekend and none of those words about going elsewhere ever came out of his mouth...
If races continue to be as entertaining as this, i could care less who stays or leaves. There's hundreds of great drivers who would give anything just to have the chance to drive in F1. I have watched F1 since 1988, and i started watching when Senna battled Prost, we have rarely seen anything like that since, except in recent years with the likes of Hamilton and Verstappen. But what we are seeing now with these new rules, is a more packed field, more battles and more risk. This is exactly what these rules were aiming at, more entertainment. And I've been waiting for it for over 30 years.
Since when could a championship be 'over' after 5 races. George is very consistent and doesn't have a bad weekend in him. Kimi is driving well but definitely has a potential to have a bad run over a few races. Right now shouldn't be about points or a championship, it's just about confidence.
I was pretty dismissive of the new regs over the first few races because of the Yo-yo overtakes. But Canada and Miami show that the current generation of cars can race close, lap after lap, and that overtakes are not slam dunks. I just pray that the teams dont find ways to slap on more downforce over the season and the regulation cycle that then impacts following cars.
Maybe the reason McLaren didn't split the strat was The Papaya rules, they insist to treat both driver same strategy

my friend's first F1 race in a while... he watched a pretty eventful one
No, it’s not the Leclerc’s worst week in F1, but it feels that way because he was beaten convincingly by a 41 year old Lewis.
I like Hamilton, he's my favorite. But him being ecstatic about a fake 2nd place is a bit odd. I know a place is a place & he has been struggling, I get it. But he goes on and on about reasons for the success & the team doing better etc. In reality though, he most likely would've been 5th or 6th if it weren't for McLaren & Russell going down. I just don't want him getting too high on this and acting like things have changed. He 100% drove better in qualifying and all weekend.But the car still has no top end speed and idt they'll get any higher than 3rd this season unless they get a major upgrade.
Stoked Max has a line in the sand re reg engine changes. It’s needed. Too much electrification clearly is not great.
