Why I Skip 5th Gear in My Racing Mower

i have a similar one and im pretty sure 5th and 6th are actually identical its the weirderst thing

i used to get in trouble for skipping gears. but at certain speeds skipping gears just makes sense

5th gear is usually 1:1 and 6th is overdrive. I still remember that from shop class.

In my road car i dont even rev match 6-5th downshifts because they are practically the same gear

Swap 5 and 6 around on the shaft and use spacers at the end so it’s only got 5 gears

2004 subie wrx first gear is like that too. I mean itll go 30mph in first but its got way too much torque in first and its jumpy.

In my 6 speed car (2024 wrx) I skip gears unless I'm racing and need the torque. You aren't hurting the car and the ride is the same with less driver input.
