Yep, I'm not high from all the wood stain I've been using on an off-camera Giant Jenga project. When I was scrolling through a FormLabs article on dyeing SLS prints, they mentioned using an ultrasonic cleaner to dye 3D prints. Scroll down to Dyeing Equipment. https://formlabs.com/blog/dyeing-sls-3d-printed-parts/ Obviously, there are dedicated machines made JUST for this process, but I had to give it a try. In my experience, MJF can be dyed, but it takes much longer than regular SLS prints when doing it using the conventional stovetop method. To say I was SHOCKED at how well the prints dyed in all of 5 minutes in the liquid was an understatement. For reference, I'm used to boiling parts for 10-20 minutes to get the desired color. In the future, I will work on some kind of basket setup to hold them submerged in the liquid, but for an initial run, I'm quite impressed. The ultrasonic cleaner I used. Note, it was originally purchased for stripping model train shells, so it's more than oversized for the application! Make sure that if you get one, it has a built-in heater unit to maintain the liquid temperature.
