Tipper my Daddy used to tell me that "when the plants look like they have stressed when you started and looks pitiful before you transplanted them into your garden then they will perform and Tasted the Best" The garden looks beautiful. I sure do wish I could plant a garden, but my Husband died Aug. 2025, and my health has taken a toll on me since he passed. I did plant a few flowers and have my Bird feeders and they make me happy. Bless you and your Family, I do enjoy following you and Matt when work in your garden.

I started my seed in the house under grow lights & on heat mats. This is my 1st year growing Cherokee Purples and the plants are loaded.

Oh the memories of making mud pies! Hollyhocks remind me of my mom. She was born in 1935. She has been gone 43 years but years ago she told me when she was a little girl, she made dolls with the most beautiful skirt, from Hollyhocks. She took a bud (round before the bloom) and a bloomed flower. Used a toothpick or a small thin stick to attach them together. The pre-bloom was the head and the bloom was sort of the body with a beautiful skirt. The toothpick or stick needs to be long enough to make her stand up.
