I guess it'll have to be up to AMD and INTEL to provide integrated graphics laptops and desktops in the future that will eventually surpass the current flagship NVIDIA GPU.
.. Brother... Edge Computing is the industry term for any solution, hw, or product that is deployed or run closest to or by the user or consumer, as opposed to being accessed through the cloud or a data center. So since most gamers prefer to run games directly ON THE MACHINE they operate, that's why they could be considered "Edge Computing" because they, the are on the last part, or "Edge" of the supply chain
Thanks Joe and Paul for massively dialling back the slop from last week. Really appreciate it. Seems more honest.
DDR4 is high priced too!
was really hoping the 5800x3d was going to be $250 or $275 max :/
Will miss you. Safe travels!
I built a new rig in September before everything went nuts, and I only knew what was going on because of channels like this. Thanks Paul.
2:18 I respect the Riley Reid shoutout.
Not far from Taipei but not interested in travelling up north for Computex. Have fun Paul and Joe.
Good luck over in Taipei finding non AI news. The posturing by PRC recently regarding Taiwan is scary.
Nvidia wants you to forget they were a gaming corporation
7:27 Perfectly executed
"In the future, you will ask us to do computing for you and, if we decide you deserve it, we'll give you what we think you need to have. And you'll like it."
"Edge computing" yeah right on the edge , one small nudge and it's gone
Enjoy your time off, Paul.
Paul somehow captures the tone of today's news with the perfect blend of quiet enragement, desperation, and resignation. Chef's kiss.
Paul, while you are at Computex, should the PRC decide to invade, send up the flare I mailed to Diamond Bar and I will be there with an extraction team forthwith. If such drama does not unfold, may you and Joe be well. May you also be graced with many glorious stories to share during and after the journey.
I'm wondering if those Chinese RAM chips will just be resold to data centers for greater profit than producing RAM.
how do you not know the definition of edge computing? putting gaming devices into an edge computing bucket makes complete sense for those that understand corporate finance and restructuring product categories to meet new market focus...there is data center and everything outside the data center (edge). this is exactly how things were done in the mainframe era...so it's not surprising since the compute is being moved back towards the data center. Gaming used to be a discernible percentage of their revenue, but now it's not (compared to data center products)... so they're merging it with all other non-data-center products. As they should.
Imagine getting excited about the re-release of a 10-year old CPU.
