The chain saw was invented because if the pelvis didnβt separate enough both mom and baby would die an incredibly painful death. The pain of the chainsaw was worse for a moment, but didnβt last as long as the pain of stalled labor. Usually this was because she mother was too young and her pelvis was too small to accommodate childbirth.
