'AI has allowed Klarna executives to get richer whilst people loose their jobs and customer service goes down ' is unashamably what the Klarna CEO is saying!

Now I'm confused. If taxes are what sustain the state, and then they're replaced by artificial intelligence, which doesn't pay taxes on its salary because it doesn't have one, how will the state finance itself? It's one of two things: either taxes aren't necessary because they can print whatever money is needed, or they'll have to kill 80% of the population to eliminate the need for the money that has been necessary.

The “I’m not afraid of the long term, but in the short term” is the worrying part because businesses these days don’t live in long term. They say “you can deal with more pain [workers] now if it means our company gets better revenue results now”

Among many other things, I absolutely loved the analogy of using a rocket just for short-distance transportation. AI and it's technologies can be used in a limited capacity by everyone for their personal tasks. Instead of letting an AI have access to your data (anonymous or not, it's still used for training as far as I know), people can just have a local LLM on their machine that can be finetuned (trained) in helping them do their daily low-value tasks so that their productivity increases, while also not killing the critical thinking ability of the user.

Thanks Karen Hao for this interview. For the first time, I feel like I understand issues surrounding AI much better. Your broad and informed perspective is very much appreciated. Please keep doing what you are doing.

If everyone is unemployed because of AI and automation, who will have money to buy the products AI produces and sells?

Great interview! This lady really knows her stuff. I would’ve asked her if it’s true that these tech heads were really having these hotel parties and augmenting each other into Human 2.0 augmented human. Wasn’t it Zuckerberg that said “I was once human..” and after Rogan asked Musk if people are still going to enjoy beaches and sunsets after merging with technology and musk replied “I still enjoy it.”
