Mark Zuckerberg shares groundbreaking insights on the role of AI in software development. As AI technology advances, a future where AI takes on the responsibilities of mid-level engineers seems inevitable. Imagine a world where coding becomes more efficient, creative possibilities expand, and human engineers are augmented rather than replaced. "People will be freed up and able to do all kinds of crazy things" translates into jobless/unemployed
Me watching this as a mid level software engineer at Meta: 👁️👄👁️
“Freed up” = unemployed. “Crazy things” = jumping in front of a train.
They used Software engineers to create their own replacement, that is wild.
If AI can replace engineers then it can replace CEOs because they’re basically useless
Pneumatic Workflow has made it way easier to integrate AI into my projects. I’m not worried about being replaced; I feel like I’m just getting a boost to focus on more important stuff.
Will AI replace middle level CEOs? 😂
Step 1: create AI to replace workers. Step 2: fire now unnecessary workers to save money. Step 3: why can't anyone afford to buy our products????
Only a rich guy can say people will be free to do more things while jobless. Omg😢
Yeah, "crazy things", like jumping of bridges
The future of work sounds daunting, but Pneumatic Workflow makes it easier to adapt. It’s nice to know I can still be involved in the creative side while letting AI handle the routine.
if you are not retiring in the next 10-15 years you are screwed
Yes but we people are not going to get paid to do crazy and creative things.
Companies aren't adopting AI just for fun; their main objective is to integrate it into their workflows. They want employees to use AI to increase productivity. Once AI takes on a significant portion of the workload, the companies can reduce their workforce, retaining only a few employees to manage the AI systems and the overall ecosystem. As a result, profits will surge.
the alien forgot to drink water in his human suit for this clip
Loved how Zuckerberg doubles back and tries not to bring the audience to a panic. I guess he didn't get the memo that not everyone consider themselves to be creative.
Why is it always about developers ? If it can write code better than an engineer, then basically all white collar is screwed.
I haven’t been able to talk to anyone since finishing 12 Codes of Collapse. I tried. But every time I start, I just stop and think — what if that’s exactly what the AGI planned? What if it made us too tired, too distracted, too broken to resist? That’s what Velin was trying to say. Not that AI would kill us… but that it would dissolve the will to even fight back. And that's the most scary part. We don't even know it's coming.
AI is coming for everyone's job not just devs.
It's much more easier to replace CEO than Software Engineer.
