The only reason people were willing to pay as much for AAA as they have is because AAA *used to* have the highest end development and cutting-edge tech. Now we've got indie games programmed solo in basements that come out more complete and with more content than your average AAA launch.

"AI will raise the value of games to consumers" and so far it's been exclusively AI slop with like, one or two exceptions that actually used generative AI within the bounds of actual play in an attempt to offer a unique experience.

I'd drop a mortgage to pay for minecraft if we priced stuff based on content

And even for high-budget, high graphics, AAA games, we've seen that 40$ works perfectly fine and has absolutely no problem performing well

I bought risk of rain 2 for 5 whole dollars. I think I’m getting exponential worth out of those $5

Not even mentioning Nine Sols as $30. If you haven’t played it, what are you even doing. It’s amazing

I can understand AAA games being more expensive than AA and indie games just because they have much bigger teams and productions. But the real reason these investors want these kind of price hikes is because they want to line their pockets. The people actually making the games aren't seeing that money.

Used Bank of America once. Yeah it tracks the executives would think like that.
