I finished Syphon Filter on PS1 and I didn't need nostalgia to make it a good game! Despite this being my third playthrough I'd somehow forgotten most of the game past the early levels, which accidentally turned into the perfect test of whether this game holds up on its own merits. Spoiler: it does. Even when I was getting lost in cathedrals, failing to protect CBDC agents, or getting blown up by grenade launchers repeatedly.
