I've said it before I'll say it again, this Montreal cup run isn't a fluke, this is the result of four years of progress, growth, and building the right way. Even if they get eliminated by Carolina, we're going to look back at this as the culmination of one of the most successful and prompt rebuilds in NHL history

I also noticed all game that when Carolina tried to get physical and lay contact on mtl it just was no really working at all, and im wondering if the buffalo series gave em a tune up cause Carolina players were just bouncing off mtl all night

I'm from Montreal, so... I might be biased, but the more I look at it, there is also the fact that for most US teams, playing hockey looks more like a job. Most of the players are like mercenaries. They are well paid and play well, but it's a job. Back in Montreal, it's different. It's a religion — almost like a cult. There are a couple of teams in the US that have real attendance and real fans, but otherwise it's just one sports team among many. In Montreal, it's all we've got. I remember a player from Las Vegas, or some other place, being traded to Montreal, and the guy was like: "I went from speaking to the radio once a month to being interviewed every single night by the media." Montreal is on another planet when it comes to hockey.
