I don’t consider him killing her as a mercy killing, because the fact that he is immortal, he can’t die, he could’ve waited until she passed, but he was selfish and decided to choose a woman that doesn’t love him because he thinks that she belongs to him over a place where he can call home, he didn’t kill her out of mercy.
