For those wondering it’s because the second layer was bad and had lots of germs in the plastic and the microplastics so for health it wasn’t FDA approved so it took the 2nd layer off but still sells it with only 1 layer now and fun fact the second layer for the crunch was actually accidental

The new packaging doesn’t make the sound anymore!!! My grandma would buy them all the time when I was younger they used to make the sound. Possible that the extra plastic cost more than they were making!! Hope this helps!
