Hasn't driven stick in 20 years = doesn't have his license. Got a bunch of stuff going on = will not do anything more to the mustang. Sadly this mustang will never be driven again IMO. Stay in touch with this guy, he will get into a situation he will need to sell it, you will be able to get it then. Atleast you did the right thing AND got it out of your shop my guy, your a good person!

Alex's enthusiasm for the project evaporated in a few seconds. There is a lot that did not get unpacked here, but the "I haven't driven a manual, can you bring it to my house....." gives a lot away.

Shop owner didnt want to reach out. Almost as if he knows the guy better than anyone else and didnt want Alex mixed up with this guy.
You need a fence around the property with what happened with the wheels and people just walking into the shop.
