I work for the government, and I don't even try to keep up with all the acronyms they use.

Exactly! I hate acronyms! There are common ones that most people know and then there’s all this bizarre bunches of letters that nobody except the one typing them understands.

In Germany we have the acronym DOB, too! 😊 That means,, Damenoberbekleidung. In english it means, Women's Outerwear

The U.S. military LOVES acronyms, abbreviations, initialisms, you name it... they sometimes call it "speaking in alphabet soup."

On the bright side, it makes great comedy 😃 It shows how silly things are when you pretend to be smart, but it can be absurd when you change the perspective.

I was in SD, then went to LA. Stopover at SFO before fly to NYC, with UA landed at JFK.

I'm a Pole working for an American company. The number of acronyms we use internally is insane. Some acronyms even have several, different meanings depending on the context or who is using them.

I used to think that German was bad, but American English is definitely worse. There is a German word for it, however: "Aküfi" - which is an acronym for "Abkürzungsfimmel" meaning "acronym craze".

I whatsapped this english colleague this hillarious comedy sketch!! He answered me only with "PMSL" ,no laughing emoticons,nothing else!!I had to google it,what he meant!!😂😂

What's great about ISMO is he doesn't have to rely on the language difference thing- although that makes up maybe 75% of his humor. He makes jokes about everything else, too, and he's a scream.

but I mean...those are not acronyms. Those are abbreviation. I thought acronyms are those you can pronounce as a word like AIDS, NASA.
