As the Destiny community reels from the pending ending of Destiny 2, the situation at Bungie is worse than you might think, and Destiny 3 is not on the way. Here before Aztecross reacts
“Will the execs take pay cuts to avoid lay offs?”; “we’re not that that kind of company” - Pete parsons. Says all you need to know.
Bungie: (loading gun) "any last words?" Destiny: "how's marathon?" Bungie: (pulls trigger)
The Bungie sale was one of the largest heists in American history.
If there’s no D3, Bungie is a $2.8B paperweight for Sony.
Bungie: "Marathon won't affect Destiny 2" So that was a lie.
Did marathon survive season 1? Yes. What did it cost? Everything.
"It's not looking good, fellas" Probably some random Louisiana man.
Bungie support studio arc incoming
So if Bungie is planning massive layoffs there definitely won’t be a D3. Probably not even possible but if Bungie has no desire to continue with Destiny, it would be cool if a studio purchased the IP and continued the franchise. The player base is there, we just want the content. It sounds like it’s not even being properly wrapped up which is the worst part of it.They did us and the franchise dirty.
They really think Marathon is going to make them the money that Destiny was making, hilariously stupid.
Destiny didn't die. It was murdered by Pete Parsons and the C-suite's greed.
Paul, I've really appreciated your coverage of D2 over the years. I did not always agree with you, especially in some eras of the game, but I will always maintain a high-level of respect for you and your craft. Thank you for your time and effort keeping us informed.
Marathon will never be as big as Destiny no matter how much they change it. Without a true customization option for these hero characters, it won't feel like we are individually apart of an experience either
The DCV was a terminal disease that Destiny 2 never recovered from.
This has been awful, genuinely the worst outcome
Bungie has 1 year left. 4 seasons of content for Marathon to rally new players. 12 months to prove if either of the incubation projects are worth developing. If both are below expectations, Bungie is getting dissolved, just like Bluepoint…
There are those of us Destiny 2 lovers who will NEVER play Marathon.
Destiny died so Marathon could eventually also die. Absolutely mythical business fumble.
Just so illogical to not have a plan for it. The denial to make D3 just utterly absurd from Bungie
