At the Rio 2016 Olympics, did something nobody thought was possible. In the 400m, lane 8 is considered the worst lane on the track because runners are completely isolated from the rest of the field. No pacing. No visual targets. No idea if youβre winning or losing. And somehow, Van Niekerk still broke the world record with an unbelievable 43.03 seconds. Definitely lane 8 sucks. Still can't believe Niekerk broke the record from this lane!!
Theoretically, eight lanes are advantageous, cause the curve is the gentlest.
Whatβs worse.. Lane 1 or 8?
No runner fears a lane, they keep running until they cant anymore..
Try Lane 12
Wade van what now?
In fifth grade I did 200m in 42 sec and was going to dieπ’π
rip his son and w dad, I'm happy they still got to run togetherπ’
I still get goose bumps bruh
I live in lane one and since Iβm a distance runner itβs all I get
I LOVEEEEE LANE 8
Try lane 17. Where you're in the crowd watching and don't have to race.
It makes sense they would run fastest there if they pace off of themselves. The curves are less sharp so more energy is used going forward rather than wasted on inertia carrying you to the outside

We not boutta bros last name ππ
Many stadiums now have jumbo screens where runners can see the whole field.
Good Lord that means he did 800 m with 9.3 seconds every 100 m. Dude is lightning!
