I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge that we now live in a world where the Transport Secretary, the head of a government department, agrees to participate in a proper, one-to-one interview with some guy who posts self-made videos about trains online, because that's a better way to get their message across to the populace than traditional/legacy mass media. Union Jack pattern doesn’t need to repeat on each train. Trains are linear, especially at speed. Intermediate cars should just be blue with a red stripe or similar and then the fancy diagonals à la Union Jack only at the cab ends.
I do like the idea of regionalised trains, like GBR Northern, GBR East and West Coast, GBR Anglia, stuff like that
Looks better IRL than the CGI, but it still needs work. Get rid of all the swooshes on the middle carriages, and use horizontal stripes instead. The swooshes on the ends are OK.
Hearing a government minister talking absolute sense is rare and encouraging.

Would be cool if the livery was a bit more refined (the flag design only really works on the ends imo) but also differentiated regional and intercity services. Would've been a good opportunity to bring back Network Southeast

i prefer the old scheme where you could tell the type of service from the colour - red (suburbia) / white (intercity) and blue (regional)
I am glad that the double arrow was retained, but I still find the long "Great British Railways" a lengthy mouthful. Of all the existing liveries, I think that of GWR is one of the very best and I shall be sorry to see simplicity replaced by this new one.

Lol I'm sure you've seen the retro Candy livery on our XPT, which was somewhat based on a British design.
On a larger scale note what if there were a system of long-term strategists solely brought from industry and long time experts on each department this one being transport so we didn't have this short-term ego-based party ineffective system there must be a way
The new livery reminds me of the old network southeast trains of my childhood, I kind of like it here, maybe not everywhere though.
4:00 So were gonna have a "Rainbow" era of GBR paint schemes where old meets new. Kinda like US Railroads Amtrak, Burlington Northern, or Conrail back in the 70's.
