The one thing that I hate about MOT centres is one will give an advisory for the exhaust but the one down the road wouldn't mention it. It's infuriating sometimes. It's just the luck of the draw...
I would still take the matter further with BCA, they need to be made accountable for what they have done or lack of what they did, someone may not be in a privilege like you and it could ruin their business and their livelihood
