"I'm a good driver it won't happen to me" Alright? What about all the other drivers on the road? What about unexpected conditions and obstacles? What about when some moron doesn't pull onto an empty highway until the moment you're too close to stop before a collision resulting in you tboning them and wrecking their brand new Subaru?

Lost my best friend when we were kids. He didn’t wear a seatbelt and went through the windshield of the car. I still remember how bruised he was and how plasticky he looked when I went to the funeral. The other kid in the vehicle who wore a seatbelt only broke his arm I think…He was 13.

My friend and his younger brother were out celebrating his birthday December 26th, 2022. He lost control of his truck and swerved into a massive power pole with 6x6 concrete Barriers. His younger brother was ejected out the driver window and smashed his head into one of the barriers. The impact was so forceful it actually bounced him off the barrier back into his seat. They cleaned him up as well as they could for the viewing but he was still unrecognizable. Please please wear your seatbelt, it might save your life.

I used to be the type of guy who would hardly ever use a seatbelt, then I watched a large compilation video like this of the inside of cars during crashes. Let me tell you, the difference between those who did wear seatbelts and those who didn't scared me straight from that day forward. ALWAYS a seatbelt wearer now.

There is literally no reason not to invest 2-3 seconds and buckle up after getting in the car (BEFORE doing anything else!). Personally, even if I wanted to I couldnt drive without a seatbelt, Id feel kind of naked.

People often skip over the fact that a seatbelt is not only for your safety, but for the safety of others in the car. Your body bouncing all over the car hitting everyone else is only causing more damage than if you were belted into your seat.

Years ago I crashed my full-size pickup. I was hit by a drunk driver on the Interstate. My truck went over the guardrail and down an embankment at 60 mph. The airbag did not deploy. The force of the collision when my truck stopped at the bottom was incredibly violent. I am certain that I would have gone through the windshield if not for the belt. The force of the STOP was astonishing. I smashed my face on the wheel and broke my nose and wrecked my back. The seat was all the way back. That illustrates how much the belt stretched under the strain of the impact. I'd be dead if not for the belt. No question in my mind.
