As a truck driver, if you notice a truck drifting out of its lane (like in the video), the best thing to do is to get out of its way and honk repeatedly. This will help alert the truck driver—who may have dozed off—as well as other drivers, potentially preventing an accident. I'm very sure that the driver who slowed down to avoid the truck didn't even think of honking.
I don't remember ever falling asleep driving. I do remember a few times waking up while driving. 😅

For those wondering the details of the crash, this happened the night of June 20th, 2023, on Highway 401 east of Toronto in Pickering, Ont. 2 people were killed, the driver of the first truck that we see, and the other in westbound lane. A truck that was inflamed in the initial explosion. There was a third vehicle as well, a car, but both passengers were able to get out and were alright. As far as I found, there was no released statement as to WHY this happened. Wither the trucker fell asleep at the wheel, or that he somehow lost control, I do not know.

So sad . I started to fall asleep at the wheel once but I think what saved me was the bumps on the stripe on the side of the road…it is there for a reason.. tires make a noise. I pulled over and took a nap at the next exit. Twas scary.
