Other people, who are not car experts, are amazed by the jumps (because it is absolutely amazing how they jump and especially how they land, the shock absorbers of a modern WRC are something that explodes my head) well, what I was saying; Hammond is not only amazed by the jumps but he is amazed by the layouts, with how well a professional WRC driver handles and how well he touches all the apexes in such different curves and with such small margins of error.

Now imagine - having only seen the course once at 35 mph - going full out with a voice in your ear telling what the next corner is as you enter the current one. The amount of concentration and information processing they do, while performing that absolute ballet of driving is extrodanary. I've driven the 'Dirt Rally' sims and am drenched in sweat after every stage from the pure mental and physical strain - and that's sitting still in an air conditioned room. I can't imagine throwing real world consequences on top of it.

That was awesome!!!! What a great day for not only rallying. But also sports car racing too because the guys raced at Road America too. With the manufacturing expansion on road racing. I hope they expand the rallying programs too
Nice to hear from someone who understands what drivers are doing and is able to describe it so eloquently all while knowing at the same time he couldn't do it himself.
I agree with Mr Hammond. It just blows me away how skilled these drivers are and also by all those engineers that builds those cars. Just amazing and very entertaining!

I'm impressed Hammond! When I got to ride along first time with professional rally driver on stage I couldn't do nothing but to hang on to my dear life. That was terrifying and it was only rear wheel drive rally car although in fast finnish rally stage. Pace that those Rally1 cars have I think I would have had a heart attack. Hammond could enjoy the ride and pay attention what the driver was doing.
