I really wish Toyota, Honda and or Subaru would make a truck to compete with the Ford Maverick. I prefer these brands over Ford, but have to hand it to Ford for making such a versatile, efficient and “relatively” affordable, right sized truck for the masses.
It's a good truck. Wish the gas tank was 3 gallons larger, but thats really my only complaint.
Coming from the tuner car world, I recently bought a 4th-gen Tacoma as my daily driver and I love it.
As a former 4th gen hater and 3rd gen owner, I traded in my 3rd gen for a 4th gen and absolutely love the 4th gen. In terms of driving, it is so much better than the 3rd gen.

The only reason I'd buy a Tacoma over a Frontier is the manual option. But Toyota not offering a manual Tacoma WITH a 6' bed is a deal breaker.

I have a 2nd. gen Tacoma, 2014 from new, 12 years, 0 issues, just proper maintenance, and tires every 4 years. That’s the reason why it’s the best selling by far pick up truck on the segment.
I can’t wait for the next generation of Nissan body on frame SUVs and trucks. Toyota badly needs some more competition.
I just picked up my 2026 TRD OFF ROAD , it’s very solid and I hope to have it for at least 15yrs.
people like to hate it but ive already saved a silverado, a ranger, and the same silverado again from the mud on the jobsite.
I don't mind the turbo 4 cylinder, Toyota has a long history of using them in their diesel trucks. I just wish the manual transmission came with an actual handbrake lever rather than a stupid button.
