I get asked the same question. My answer is much simpler. Since all three will pretty much tow anything you want, go for the one that fits your needs and your budget. Right now, Ford has employee pricing for all, albeit on the Superduties, only the XLT trim and down are eligible. RAM uses pyramid pricing, so getting 15 to 19 percent off MSRP isn't difficult. GM's MSRPs are priced lower than the other two, but it is difficult to get much below invoice pricing on a GM heavy-duty. Happy shopping.
JD I have been watching your videos for a long time. As a retired ASE technician & a FAA aircraft maintenance technician and inspector…. I need to weigh in…. We have had (4) Duramax trucks in our family since 2001, (3) Fords … (1-350, 1-250 SD) and 1 … 2001 Excursion with 7.3 Powerstroke. I am now moving RVs around the USA part-time as a RV Transporter….. Here you go: the Ford F-450 has an issue in snow and slush and heavy rain due to the wide front end stance because it does NOT track in the same path as the inside or outside Dually wheels… thus the vehicle likes to pull left-right during the above weather conditions… fact…. It is not the tires…. This is from a business owner who delivers pipe to the Iron Range (2) times + per week from Minneapolis/St. Paul Mn. I like our Duramax trucks, but the seats are horrible-uncomfortable…. My 2006 Duramax seats are the best!! I still own my 2016 GMC 3500 Dually….. when it was out of service the last (3) months for a new engine..(33k)…. I purchased a newer Ram 3500 Dually High Output…. With the Aisin…. What a difference….. I will never go back to pulling anything else without my new Ram…. The (2) stage exhaust brake is what the “others-MFG’s” need to emulate….. btw…. As a disabled Veteran…. I use the same seat pad on my seat as you do….. because I have rods in my back…. The Ram seats are the most comfortable too…. Just my .02 from a technician with decades of experience….
Just ordered another Ram 3500. The other brands don’t offer anything to pull me away from the Cummins. Just my personal preference and I’ve owned them all before.
Agreed. I think my Chevy is a beautiful truck inside and out. The leather seats are terrible. They’re just really hard. I don’t understand why either.
You're comparing apples to oranges. The Ford is a 450 not a 350.
My answer would be, they all have their issues. Do your research. Go test drive each one. In my experience, a GM HD truck is the best bang for your buck!

I’m glad I watched this. To me Chevy 3/4 ton and up are the ugliest trucks made. The front headlights are atrocious to me. Ford looks the best to me followed by Ram then GMC and then very distantly behind is Chevy. I’ve wondered if people like the looks of GM or just buy because of brand loyalty. Looks are definitely subjective

Easy it all depends on what your specific needs are. Will it be a daily/ tow rig what trailers how heavy and how often will it tow. If you will be towing more than 18k trailer you should get a dually 3500/350 or a 450/4500. It’s always going to be better to have too much truck for what you need than too little when you are overloaded and someone hits you/ causes a wreck or you cause a wreck because you couldn’t stop. Pulling the weight is not the problem stopping it will be. Do your research and get what fits your needs.
Had a 5.9 HO Cummins 6spd in 03, couple decked out 6.0 liter powerstrokes in 06 to recent. Was leaning towards the new Ford HO this winter but settled on a nice durable Cummins 14 liter big cam in a Navistar chassis. Stick the Eaton 😊in 9th gear and let it grunt right uphill loaded.
I think GMC and Chevy doubled down on the ugliest front end department trying to outdo the Lexus of a few years ago. I’m sorry but they are butt ugly. Especially the GMC huge ugliness. I do like the Ram for looks but I’m sticking with Ford for the whole package.
Avoid GM. Transmission issues, bad brakes, bad steering, and hard seats.

Great video! I've looked at the big 3, 2010 Ram 2500 Cummins (still have), 2014 Ram 1500, 2018 Ram 1500 and now a 2023 Ram 3500. Never liked the GM trucks, Ford was always a close contender in my book but the Cummins and 5.7 Hemi have always been good to me. Prior to 2010, it was Ford and then GM for a couple years. I've always felt Ram was a good bang for the buck! All my Cummins engines have been great towing and problem free
The best truck to buy: Pre 2009 deleted diesel pickups. Anything newer is basically trash at this point. Even with a construction business, it's been more time and cost effective to completely rebuild a truck better than new than consider anything newer. The industry has committed suicide. Regulation has crushed what greed hasn't killed.
Spot on on the GM seats. They are terrible. I own a 2024 3500 Denali Dually and he seats are so hard. I am also not a fan of the 10 speed fake allison.
None with today’s prices. If everyone stopped buying automobiles even for one month then they would stop ripping us off! Give us a decent product that won’t break down as soon as the 3 year warranty expires too.
