I would love to see a video discussing how the same tire from the same manufacturer can perform completely differently depending on its format. For instance, D vs. E ratings on the same tire creates two completely different driving experiences. I have a Mercedes Gwagon Professional, which came with Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws, but the OEM versions were totally different than the kind you’d get at Tire Rack - less aggressive tread and lighter - probably to enhance fuel economy. These were Mercedes-specked versions of AT3Ws. I replaced them with 33” AT4Ws, which have much more aggressive treads. Totally different tire. Interestingly, in the size I purchased, the tires are E-rated and “10-ply”, but have a 2-ply sidewall. Some sizes of the same tire come in a 3-ply Duramax sidewall, which is significantly heavier than the 2-ply version I own, with a stiffer ride. So when a review compares two tires from two different brands, it means very little without breaking down which specific version of each tire is being tested. The variations meaningfully affect the weight and performance of the tire. Driving the AT4Ws with an E-rating and 3-ply sidewall may run perfectly on a large truck, but terribly on a Tacoma, whereas the same model in D-rating may run perfectly on the Tacoma. I haven’t found anything on YouTube explaining this seemingly important issue.

General Grabber Arctic LT. The best snow tire for trucks ever made. No one beleives me because it doesn't look super agressive and nobody understands how snow tires actually work.

I’ve had three sets of tires on my H2. Factory BFG KOs, Yokohama Geolanders, and now to BFG KO3’s. Originals were okay but noisy on the road, still have the original spare on the back. The Yok’s were horrible. They couldn’t push out water for the life of them and tended to ride on top of standing or torrential amounts of rain. They were also noisy but much better on dirt. Had a lot of life left on them but they were dry rotting between the treads so they had to go. Have had the KO3’s now for a few months and they’re the best yet. Butter smooth and fairly quiet on the road, and they push out rain better than any tire on any vehicle I’ve ever had. Great snow traction and balanced easy. Listen, the NTSB would never allow a tire company to sell tires out of round from the factory, however, tire guys need to know what kind of adapters to use to position and balance these heavy ass tires. Got mine at Costco and these guys are trained on BFG’s by BFG. They only carry Bridgestone, BF Goodrich, Pirelli, Michelin, and Firestone, with lifetime rotation, balance, and repair at no charge. They sell tons of KO3’s and said they have very little problems with them.

Been running BFG's for years. as long as your rotate and balance like clockwork you won't have any issues. beast of a tire.

Continental has smooth side walls just like the Toyo AT3 I like the aggressive side walls like Falken or Nittos

Good to know I made a solid choice with the Conti's for my '23 Pro-4X. I'll be getting them in a week and mounting them on new wheels. They seems 'Goldilocks' for my needs (mostly road, some light offroad.)

I’m old and have been a BFG guy for 50+ years. Unfortunately they still have the same issues as the KO2…do not balance out. I have had both Falkin 3&4…preferred the 3 on my Superduty. The best tire in a 37 size has been the Nitto G3, perfect for being quiet and still gets my 17k load in and out of a messy job site. Not as good as the Ridge Grappler but quieter at 80% perf in the dirt.

All Cooper discoverers ar junk. They all hydroplane because they don't evacuate water (just look at them) plus they are way too hard for low temps but somehow have the worst warm weather durability of any tire i have ever used. Junk!

I WILL NOT EVER USE OFFROAD TIRES ON STREET. CAN NO LONGER BUY HIGHWAY TIRES FOR MY 3 VEHICLES. Had 7 sets past 3 different brands since 2011. Need P285/70R17 117T Highway tires standard load 2833lbs psi cold. Have room 1 size larger on 2wd F-150 to better fill fenderwells. P295/70R17 118T HIGHWAY. Room rear V8 Canyon for street strip need P335/60R17 HIGHWAY/ Highway performance. Have friend only uses Raptor on street, never offroad as luxury status, SUV family car (like most; no one wants to tear up paint and fenders off roading in pasture on mesquite bushes and rocks). Needs P315/70R17 highway or P335/65R17 highway touring. My brothers 1wd Silverado has never gotten stuck driving 3 miles into ranch headquarters on Caliche roads. Dirt roads are not off roading. In pasture is offroading.
