As a bloke who grew up on the 80-90's I cannot comprehend how is this game "nostalgic"

A game about music where the protagonist wears her headphones backwards the whole time. Yep.
Don't forget that the "villain" of the story is a concerned police officer who is the dad of one of the main characters and he is just trying to keep his daughter from hanging out with stoner thieves. That same daughter starts a massive fire while threatening him that if he doesn't let her do whatever she wants, then she'll burn everything down. He then agrees with her entirely and lets her and her friends leave with no consequences.
