I hope you’re not draining the axle oil cold, because that would explain why it’s taking so long. You should always warm up the tractor first so the axle, engine, and hydraulic oils fully drain. Cold oil leaves contaminants behind and makes it harder to inspect properly. Always check the oil and filters for metal shavings since they can reveal internal wear or failing components early. A filter cutter is a great investment and could save you thousands. It also helps to jack up the axle you’re servicing and rotate a tire to spin the gears and help move more oil out. The best quality filter cutter I’ve found is by CAT.
