I did a similar roadtrip down to Morocco a couple of years ago in my old Defender from Newcastle. Through France into Spain in one day, and then Northern to Southern Spain the following day and into Morocco. To make it ever worse, my girlfriend broke her ankle to week before we set off - she was meant to drive the first leg as I was running a half marathon on the day we set off. Pissed oil all the way as I had a dodgy rear crank seal and broke down in the centre of Marrakech. Quick fix and some great mechanics. 3500 miles later, fantastic roadtrip! Just got back from the Arctic Circle. Maybe that could be the next one!
