The ONLY time im okay with cropping ears / tail is when its for a working dogs safety OR because of a medical reason. Working dogs on farms for example having long ears and tails can risk injury and infection, so it makes sense for their and the livestocks well being the tail is cropped. But i dont understand why people do it just because they want their dog to look a certain way just cause

No, don't get a dog if you want an accessory. It's illegal in the UK.

Heres the thing... Originaly this was done to hunting dogs and shepherd dogs so that the wolves, foxes, bears and other such things cant tear their ears off. So it actually had a reason behind it - to protect the dog. Doing it just for "cosmetic" purposes is nothing but barbarism.

Yeah i think its bad, the inly thing i support is tail doccing on hunting or working dogs, i do it to my beagles because it gets torn up in briars but the ears have no buisness being cut

Cropping ears/tails for APPEARANCE is considered animal abuse but cropping ears and tails for health reasons for example ear infections and for work reasons like hunting animals or herding animals like beagles is very helpful to these animals in preventing injuries.

They look 10x cuter with floppy ears

In my opinion ear cutting for working dogs is better and makes more sense than tail cutting and in general

not how she says 'cosmetic'! it is ethical to crop working dogs ears to prevent injuries, for example guard dogs or livestock guardians :)

Declawing, and ear and tail cropping are illegal. Unless you have certain permissions or the pt medically needs the procedure (ex: happy tail) then it is ok. Never for cosmetic purposes.

One of my dogs is a rescue from the streets of Oakland, and somebody had very improperly cropped her ears, now she has bloody ear wax deep in her ear canal, and they always itch, poor baby. She is very cute tho

A bunch of mini schnauzers get their ears cropped and it makes me so sad, I’m so happy my dog has hers intact, they are the softest cutest things on the planet. I wish she still had her tail though too 😭
