And by that logic Tom should put Ancelotti over Pep in all time lists because Ancelotti dominated Pep in Europe almost every time.

Can’t stand this argument about the finals Pep won vs Fergie. Pep literally had the best player of all time and a generational World Cup winning Spanish core in his team.

If you wanna make the argument of football all time managers pep over Ferguson thats fine but strictly prem i think is outrageous, 13 prem titles in 3 different decades and being able to stay at the top for that many years is a compliment and not something to discredit him for.

Any list without Sir Alex at 1 is absolutely braindead and redundant.

I'm 100% biased (Utd fan), but there are a few big issues comparing the two. First up the 90s spending is completely wrong. Think we were about 8th for most of the 90s with Newcastle top. Peps a better tactician, but Fergie was a better man manager. Peps teams levels drop dramatically with 1 or 2 players missing (Rodri in particular), but Fergie won a title with Cleverly and Anderson. Pep had the better of Fergie, but that's potentially more to do with he fact that Barcelona team might be the greatest team of all time (certainly of the modern era) with MSN and their midfield. But Fergie admitted he could have attacked the finals differently. That Utd team did make 3 UCL finals in 4 years too. You could argue Pep would outweigh Fergies PL trophy haul of he stayed longer, but that kinda downplays the fact Fergie was good enough and strong enough to keep going for that long and rebuild team after team. Fergie also rebuilt the entire club from top to bottom, whereas Pep took over a team that had won the PL a year earlier. He's had a huge impact on our football culture, but he hasn't been as involved in restructuring City (upper management took that role). Anyway, I'm biased, but think the debate needs a bit more detail. I'm older than all the panel too, so I saw the changes 1st hand, whereas you guys have lived through and loved footy through the Pep era, so I get it
